SWINDON will track Wimborne Road favourite Kyle Newman as a guest in tonight's SGB Premiership play-off semi-final against Pirates.

Bradley Wilson-Dean has been ruled out of the first-leg clash in Dorset despite returning from a wrist injury to score eight paid 10 for Peterborough against Workington yesterday.

The Kiwi has not ridden for Swindon for three weeks due to the niggling problem.

Newman started the season at parent club Poole but was axed in June and replaced by Somerset asset Paul Starke.

Robins team boss Alun Rossiter told the club website: "Brad was really struggling to hang on to the bike at Peterborough.

"I spoke to their team manager Carl Johnson after the meeting and he told me how much Brad had struggled despite scoring well.

"Brad pulled out of our meeting this morning and admitted he isn't fit enough right now.

"It's a major disappointment because but he needs more time to get back to full fitness and fingers crossed he can do that pretty soon.

"I had no alternative to book a guest replacement and we sincerely thank Kyle Newman for stepping in at such late notice.

"We feel he's the right man to step into the role for us and, hopefully, he can make his vast knowledge of the Wimborne Road circuit count."
