GRAEME Rose’s second-half winner earned Swanage Town & Herston a 2-1 victory over Hamworthy Rec at Days Park.

Harry Stokes opened the scoring for Rec on the stroke of half-time before Cameron Beard plundered his 10th goal of the season to level.

Rose headed home the decider in the 56th minute to help Swan maintain second place in the table.

Champions Holt United came away from Westland Sports with a hard-fought 1-1 draw.

The Bulls took the lead through Charlie Gajic’s header on 20 minutes and were indebted to goalkeeper Chris Lynch who pulled off a couple of decent saves to preserve it going into half-time.

But the hosts equalised on 46 minutes when Haydn Hodges burst through to score with a tidy finish.

Despite presentable chances for both teams, it remained 1-1 with a draw a fair result in a well-contested match.

Second-half goals from goals from Shane Lock, Sam Nicholls, Dan Andrews and Rory Zima condemned Wareham Rangers to a 4-0 defeat at leaders Balti Sports.

Parley Sports would have been kicking themselves for failing to make the most of their chances as they drew 0-0 with Dorset Premier League rivals Sturminster Newton United.

A combination of poor finishing and an excellent defensive rearguard action saw the Yellows thwarted by depleted United at Barnetts Field.

Sturminster Newton did the double over Parley last season, winning both matches 2-1.

A share of the spoils earned Parley their first point of the season since the opening day when they drew 2-2 at Gillingham Town.

It also stopped the rot following a hat-trick of defeats against Merley Cobham Sports, Balti Sports and Hamworthy Recreation.

Parley, who finished ninth last season, were due to play Blandford United on Tuesday and host Bridport reserves on Saturday.

Merley Cobham Sports were forced to come from behind before running out 3-1 victors over Shaftesbury reserves.

Ben Satterley cancelled out the Rockies’ opener before second half goals from Ellis George and Jamie Moores turned the clash in Cobham’s favour,

Elliot Bevis (2), Nick Thompson, Nathan Miller and Jack Baker were on target in Gillingham Town’s 5-0 win over Blandford United.
