CHERRIES striker Joshua King signed a new four-year deal and then declared: “The future here is bright.”
The Norway international enjoyed his best return in a campaign with 16 goals last season, prompting rumours of interest from Tottenham.
While the 25-year-old admitted he had been “intrigued” by the speculation, he remained at Vitality Stadium.
King has not missed a minute of Cherries’ three Premier League games this season. And the former Manchester United youngster insisted he had never wanted to move on.
Speaking to the club website, the frontman said: “There was a lot of talk during the summer but I always made it clear I wanted to stay here.
“AFC Bournemouth is a great club that is always looking to improve, the manager has been brilliant with me and we have a fantastic squad.
“The future here is bright and I’m really happy I will be a part of that.”
King, who penned a four-year contract last summer, was signed from Blackburn for a bargain £1million in 2015.
Cherries chief executive Neill Blake said: “Joshua is the fifth player we have tied down to a new deal this summer and, combined with our four new signings, we can all be excited about the direction the club is heading in.”
