EDDIE Howe declined to comment on speculation linking Cherries with Leicester City’s Demarai Gray.

Winger Gray has repeatedly been linked with a move to the south coast and the 21-year-old has spoken to Foxes boss Craig Shakespeare about a lack of game time.

The youngster made 30 Premier League appearances last term, nine of which were starts.

Cherries reportedly had a series of bids rejected during Gray’s spell at Birmingham City, prior to signing for the Foxes.

Asked about the England under-21s star ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash against Watford, Howe replied: “I made it very clear previously when Demarai was at Birmingham, that we did like the player but he is very much a Leicester player now and I won’t comment on other people’s players.”

Quizzed on whether he would like to add to his squad in general before the transfer window closes, Howe said: “Possibly in one position. It’s not a must but we will wait and see.

“Although we are short on numbers, we are very high on quality.

“I think this year the big difference is the pool of players I have to pick from is very strong but we don’t have huge depth. That’s obviously my issue if we get any more injuries.”
