JORDAN Green is relishing the opportunity to prove himself in the Football League after leaving Cherries for Yeovil Town.

The diminutive frontman yesterday penned a one-year deal at Huish Park, having been granted a free transfer by Cherries.

Green, who gave up his job as a supermarket shelf-stacker to join Cherries in July 2015, had been part of the under-21 set-up at Vitality Stadium.

Released by Fulham as a youngster due to his size, Green was recommended to Cherries after starring for Banbury United in the Southern League.

The 22-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan at Newport County, but was left kicking his heels when he was blocked from playing competitively due to paperwork issues after joining Leyton Orient in January.

Green told the Yeovil website: “The manager has told me to show what I can do. He knows I have talent but it is about developing and pushing on.

“Playing is all I have been thinking about. I want to get my first game and then get going from there.”

Londoner Green joined the Glovers for the start of pre-season training, as revealed by the Daily Echo in July.
