JAMES Shanes retained his European grass track title following a stellar showing at German venue Hertingen.

The Poole reserve was in dominant form as he scorched to a 20-point maximum from four rides, allowing him to finish four points clear of Andrew Appleton.

Shanes's Pirates team-mate Edward Kennett completed an all-British podium with a 13-point salvo.

Meanwhile, Brady Kurtz starred for new Polish top-flight club Rybnik on Sunday with an 11 paid 12 haul on home shale.

The Aussie's efforts allowed Rybnik to seal a 49-41 win, with Jack Holder picking up seven points for the defeated side.

Holder missed Peterborough's 58-34 SGB Championship loss at Newcastle, in which fellow doubling-up rider Paul Starke scored six.

On Saturday, Holder racked up 13 and Starke eight as the Panthers were sunk 47-46 at Berwick.

Some 24 hours previously, Holder had managed just five and Starke eight paid nine in a 58-32 defeat at Edinburgh.

Timo Lahti roared to 15 points for Porin Nopea Racing in Finland's SM-Liiga on Saturday.
