POOLE team manager Neil Middleditch admitted he would love to see Holder brothers Chris and Jack unite in Pirates colours next year.

The Wimborne Road outfit host Rye House tonight as they bid to arrest an alarming run of four straight home losses.

It is their longest run of defeats on home shale since 1982 and there is no doubt the absence of a true number one has contributed to that.

Krzysztof Kasprzak, axed recently by Pirates, returns for Rye House – riding at reserve following his woeful form as a Pirate this year.

Poole owner Matt Ford’s decision to pick Kasprzak and loan out Chris Holder for the first time since he joined the club in 2008 raised a few eyebrows.

The 2012 world champion has not hit his best form and will not race in the SGB Premiership again this season after being sacked by King’s Lynn over his alleged refusal to ride in two of his races in Pirates’ farcical 52-40 win at the Adrian Flux Arena in July.

But Middleditch is keen to see the SGP ace return to Wimborne Road in 2018 and believes his presence would boost ever-improving younger brother Jack.

Middleditch told the Daily Echo: “I have to be honest, I would like to see that. I think the experience of riding with Chris would help him a great deal.

“You always want to beat your brother in whatever you do – whether it’s speedway or table tennis to use my favourite saying.

“I’m not the promoter, though, I’m the team manager. Matt sorts out the teams. He discusses things with me and I give my opinion. But Matt is the man who hires the riders.”

Jack Holder recently attracted the ire of BSPA boss Keith Chapman after his Championship club Peterborough released him from their team for Sunday’s Fours at the East of England Showground, allowing him to compete for Torun in the Polish Ekstraliga.

He bagged a useful five paid six points at home to Czestochowa, but it was the outstanding 13 paid 16 he recorded in Leszno on July 30 – racing on an engine borrowed from Greg Hancock – which certainly made fans take notice.

Chapman claimed Panthers “sold British speedway down the river” after striking a deal with Torun to let him race in the Ekstraliga.

But Middleditch is delighted to see the World Under-21 finalist stepping up his development in Poland.

He said: “His score in the first Torun one he did was fantastic. He banged in five paid six in his last one, which is good in the Ekstraliga.

“There is a lot more to come from Jack. He’s still learning and he is still a young man. We certainly haven’t seen the best from him.

“After paid 16 in his first meeting, they’re going to give him a go at Torun. His second score was pretty respectable too for a rider of his age and experience in the Ekstraliga.”

Pirates welcome back Brady Kurtz into the side following his recovery from broken ribs, with stand-in star Richie Worrall stepping down.

Poole: Hans Andersen, Jack Holder, Edward Kennett, Brady Kurtz, Timo Lahti, James Shanes, Paul Starke.

Rye House: Ben Barker, Chris Harris, Scott Nicholls, Stuart Robson, Ricky Wells, Krzysztof Kasprzak, Ben Morley.
