HAMWORTHY United will be hoping to make it third time lucky after being handed a home draw in first round qualifying of the Buildbase FA Vase.

Sydenhams Wessex Premier Hammers, beaten at this stage in each of the past two seasons, entertain Wessex One AFC Stoneham at the County Ground on Saturday, September 9.

The draws for the first two qualifying rounds were made last week at Wembley with 619 clubs from steps five, six and seven taking part in the competition.

Should Brendon King's Hammers overcome Stoneham, they would host either Combined Counties Premier outfit Guildford City or Wessex Premier rivals Lymington Town.

First round qualifying winners receive £550, while losers bank £175. The prize money in second round qualifying is £725 for the victors and £250 for the losers.

Swanage Town & Herston also received a home tie in first round qualifying and will meet Combined Counties Division One Ash United at Day's Park.

An all-Wessex Premier encounter sees Brockenhurst visit promoted Shaftesbury, while Wessex One Ringwood Town host Combined Counties Division One Eversley & California.

Relegated Verwood Town head to US Portsmouth, while New Milton Town visit Amesbury Town.

Hamworthy United host Dorset Premier League Balti Sports in a pre-season friendly tonight (7.30pm).
