PAUL Starke believes his machinery will be spot on for the opening meeting of his second spell at Pirates.

A replacement for Kyle Newman in the Poole line-up, the doubling-up ace is due to feature in Wednesday's home clash with Leicester.

Starke said: "We've had an engine just come back which is pretty much set up for Poole, so I am looking forward to it.

"It will be nice to get the first couple of meetings out of the way and, hopefully, I'll get some good points under my belt.

"Every meeting is tough and you just have to go into it with the same attitude."

Starke will warm up for the fixture against the Lions with an appearance in tonight's British final at Belle Vue's National Speedway Stadium.

The 26-year-old will lock horns with the likes of Scott Nicholls, Chris Harris and Craig Cook in Manchester.
