CHERRIES supporters have given the thumbs down to proposals to shift certain Premier League fixtures to a primetime Saturday night slot.

Scheduling matches for 7.45pm on Saturdays was discussed at a Premier League shareholders meeting last week.

A final verdict is expected towards the end of the year, when bids for domestic TV rights are due to be submitted.

Writing on Twitter, Cherries fans raised concerns over travel, with some insisting the plans did not give consideration to away supporters.

@itsmr0 tweeted: “Would be great if we had a public transport infrastructure that could support it. Once again TV more important than away fans.”

@HeroicHyndman said: “Would not like to see it. Don’t want to come back at stupid time after long away day. 5.30 latest imo.”

@starch99 tweeted: “Gives no consideration to travelling away fans (or exiles), who will likely have no public transport options for return.”

@Snedders93 said: “Once again fans not being thought of. It’s like when Newcastle had to come down for a 12.45 kick-off couple of season backs. Silly.”
