OLLIE Cherrett insists the "future is bright" for Christchurch, with his players desperate to put right the disappointment of missing out on promotion from Wessex One.

Manager Cherrett was thrilled that his entire squad wasted no time in committing themselves to anther season at MA Hart Stadium following last season's fourth-placed finish.

With an eight-year project to complete a new changing room complex set to come to fruition this summer, and the club on a firm financial footing, everything is in place for Cherrett launch a bid for Wessex Premier football.

He told the Daily Echo: "I am a firm believer in looking forward, you can not go back and change anything.

"The lads have been brilliant. I think, if anything, the hurt we all felt last season has sharpened our focus even more. We sat and had a beer and discussed everything as a group after the final game.

"You can not achieve anything without everybody putting it in. We all said we wanted to stick together and work hard.

"I told the lads I would bring in a couple of players, nothing major, as long as they all wanted to commit.

"At the presentation evening I had 16 or 17 signing on forms completed. I am not sure many clubs would be able to say that."
