NICOLAI Klindt hopes the inside knowledge of Pirates team-mate Hans Andersen can help him charge into the Speedway European Championship.

Andersen progressed from a Grand Prix qualifying semi-final at Gorican last year, having two years earlier won the equivalent event at the same track.

Poole reserve Klindt is tomorrow hoping to seal his place in this year's SEC by achieving a top-seven finish at the Croatian venue and he wants Pirates skipper Andersen to help him achieve that goal.

Klindt told the Daily Echo: "I know Hans has been there a couple of times in the past couple of years so I can get some tips from him.

"I consider myself an underdog for that round but I know how good I can be. I wouldn't say having seven spots makes it easier because it is a stronger field than the last round.

"If I want to get in the top five or on the podium in the SEC proper then I should get through this. I would say I need to go through and I can as well."

SEC Challenge field: Przemek Pawlicki, Andrey Kudryashov, Kim Nilsson, Kenneth Bjerre, Jurica Pavlic, Mikkel Bech, Martin Smolinski, Michael Jepsen Jensen, David Bellego, Andrej Karpov, Mateusz Szczepaniak, Timo Lahti, Nicolai Klindt, Kacper Gomolski, Andzejs Lebedevs, Adrian Miedzinski. Reserves: Janusz Kolodziej, Piotr Protasiewicz.
