LEWIS Kerr declared himself content with his efforts for Pirates following his arrival in Dorset at the end of last month.

The former King's Lynn charger joined the Wimborne Road club on a 28-day deal in the wake of the shoulder injury suffered by Kyle Newman.

Kerr told the Daily Echo: "It's still early in the season but I'm happy with how I've started.

"The more points the merrier. It's not easy being a number three but I need to be in the main body of the team."

Kerr, who has a 5.98 average, could only manage one paid two on his Poole debut against Belle Vue in the Knockout Cup quarter-final first leg.

But the ex-motocross rider swiftly improved, scoring five paid seven in the SGB Premiership opener at Leicester and bagging seven paid 10 and six paid eight, respectively, against Somerset on Good Friday.

He also totalled five paid seven at Swindon on Easter Sunday.

The 27-year-old is tonight due to line up in Pirates' challenge meeting against Coventry, the club he signed for before their licence was put on ice.

Kerr added: "It is a bit strange. I had the meeting in my diary before I joined Poole and it's still in there.

"It's good Coventry are doing the challenges and, hopefully, they will continue to do them."
