FORMER Cherries pair Matt Oldring and Chad Collins have been snapped up by Southern League Division One South & West Wimborne Town.

Oldring, who was in the same Cherries intake as Danny Ings in 2008, this week unexpectedly left Dorchester Town.

The defender was vice-captain at the Southern Premier outfit and a hugely popular figure with the Avenue Stadium faithful due to his wholehearted approach.

Following his release by Cherries in 2010, Oldring, 24, had stints with Weymouth, Hamworthy United, AFC Totton, Verwood and Bashley together with a 12-month spell in the Queensland State League in Australia with Whitsunday Miners.

Goalkeeper Collins, who came through the ranks at Dean Court alongside Baily Cargill and signed a professional deal with the club, has recently returned from a spell in America.

He will provide cover for Wimborne first choice Gerard Benfield, with Alan Walker-Harris having joined Southern Premier Slough Town.

Jamie Davidson has left Wimborne for a third time and signed for Hamworthy Recreation in the Dorset Premier League.
