MANAGER Ollie Cherrett hopes new signing Russell Cook can provide the experience Christchurch need for their Sydenhams Wessex One promotion drive.
Former Bemerton striker Cook has joined fourth-placed Priory ahead of their trip to Totton & Eling tomorrow (3pm).
Cherrett told the Daily Echo: "We have signed a very good player. Although he has not played for a little while, the quality is still there.
"He has been keeping fit by playing six-a-side but he wanted to get back to playing properly so for us it was a massive opportunity to sign someone with experience.
"That's my big thing for these 11 remaining games – we need experience and lads who aren't going to be too fazed by the situation."
Marcus Cullen is suspended for the Totton & Eling clash and Stevie Rattue is injured.
Cherrett, whose side have taken one point from a possible six, added: "It's absolutely crucial we get back to winning ways. Totton won't be easy but we need to go there and get three points.
"The top sides have still got to play each other. There are some big games to come and I feel there will be a few twists and turns yet.
"I don't think it's over for anyone and nobody is guaranteed anything."
