BJARNE Pedersen admits he has not thought about retirement plans and says he will continue to race as long as he is racking up points.

The 38-year-old, the second-highest scorer in Pirates history, made his return to the club in April when he replaced the misfiring Davey Watt.

Pedersen played his part in Poole's journey to the Elite League play-offs before injury cruelly ended his season before the semi-final second-leg defeat to Wolverhampton.

A two-time World Cup winner and veteran of 71 Grands Prix, Pedersen insists he has not given any thought to winding down just yet.

Asked how many years he felt he could continue, the Dane told the Daily Echo: "I don't think too much about it. As long as you keep fit and still have what it takes to score points, that's the most important thing.

"The day I feel I've let myself down and the clubs I'm riding for down, I'll stop.

"Maybe one day you feel there will be an end to it. As long as I can deliver, that's the most important thing."

Pedersen added: "We got so close to winning the league this year. It would have been fantastic to come back and win but injuries played a big part in it."
