CHERRIES' post-war record goalscorer Ted MacDougall will be signing copies of his new book before Eddie Howe's team face Hull City tomorrow.

The book – MacDou-Goal!: The Ted MacDougall Story – documents the life and career of the man who scored a total of 144 goals for Cherries, across two spells with the club.

MacDougall, who signed for the then Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic from York City in 1969, will be in the AFC Bournemouth Superstore between 11am and noon.

The 69-year-old scored 126 goals in 165 games during three years with Cherries before joining Manchester United for £220,000 in 1972.

MacDougall would subsequently move on to West Ham before enjoying particularly prolific stays with Norwich City and Southampton.

The centre forward returned to Dean Court in November 1978, although he spent time away with Detroit Express in the North American Soccer League ahead of linking up with Alan Ball at Blackpool early in 1980.

MacDougall confessed earlier this year to loving Cherries even more today than when he played for them.

The book was written by AFC Bournemouth club secretary Neil Vacher who witnessed MacDougall's most famous feat – the nine goals he scored in Cherries' 11-0 FA Cup first round demolition of Margate in 1971.

Supporters can purchase copies of MacDou-Goal! for £18.99.
