OLLIE Cherrett is confident Christchurch will soon hit their stride despite admitting to “very frustrating” spells this season.
Boss Cherrett has presided over three wins from seven Sydenhams Wessex League Division One games, leaving Priory mid-table in the embryonic standings.
But ahead of tonight’s trip to US Portsmouth (7.45pm), Cherrett told the Daily Echo: “Finding consistency is the key for us.
“We haven’t quite clicked yet. We seem to be playing in spits and spats. In halves of games we do well but then let ourselves down.
“A few individual errors have cost us and we seem to be getting punished for every mistake we make. We have to try and stick together and it will come, I’m sure. We believe in the players.
“It is very frustrating at times but that’s non-league football. We don’t get on the training pitch five days a week.”
Priory welcome back Luke Stone and Sam Thompson but Aaron Corby is doubtful. Aaron Atkinson is set to miss out.
Elsewhere in the division, New Milton Town entertain Baffins Milton Rovers.
In the Wessex Premier, Hamworthy United face local rivals Verwood Town at The County Ground, while Lymington face visitors Blackfield & Langley and Brockenhurst clash with Cowes Sports at Grigg Lane.
