BOURNEMOUTH'S Georgia Hall recorded her best finish yet on the Ladies' European Tour – and pocketed a handsome pay packet.

The 20-year-old, one of the brightest prospects in English golf, finished in a tie for third at the Spanish Open at Aloha Golf Club in Marbella.

She fired rounds of 70 and 68 over the weekend to finish the tournament on five under par, earning her 15,750 euro in prize money.

Hall finished five shots adrift of champion Azahara Munoz, with the United States' Beth Allen a shot behind the Spaniard in second.

Reflecting on her tournament after the final round, Hall said: "I’m really happy, especially today because I dug in hard and hit every green and only missed one fairway.

"I liked the golf course. It was quite short so if you hit the right parts of the fairway you got a lot of birdie opportunities.

"The greens were really tough so that was what was stopping a lot of players from shooting really low scores.

"I putted really well on the last day so it got me in a good position."
