SERGIO Aguero could miss Manchester City’s home clash with Cherries next month after picking up a calf injury – with a potential ban also hanging over him.
The striker apparently directed an elbow at West Ham United’s Winston Reid during City’s 3-1 win at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
The incident was let go at the time by referee Andre Marriner and Reid was replaced by Jonathan Calleri shortly afterwards.
Aguero could face retrospective action and a ban and if the 28-year-old is found guilty of violent conduct, he will be given a three-game suspension.
Matters were further complicated yesterday when it was revealed Aguero had sustained an injury during the victory over the Hammers, ruling him out of Argentina’s World Cup qualifiers during the international break.
No timescale has been given for Aguero’s return. Argentina take on Uruguay on Friday before facing Venezuela on Wednesday, September 7.
Cherries are due to take on Pep Guardiola’s side on Saturday, September 17.
City have won three Premier League games out of three under new boss Guardiola.
