EDDIE Howe believes Cherries could "potentially" receive a bid for out-of-favour midfielder Eunan O'Kane as transfer deadline day closes in.

Leeds United, Wigan, Aston Villa, Celtic and Rangers have been linked with moves for the Republic of Ireland international, who has not featured for Cherries in a competitive game since the beginning of April.

Boss Howe confirmed this morning that no bids had been tabled.

However, asked whether he expected the club to receive a bid during the window, Howe said: "We will wait and see. Potentially."

O'Kane joined Cherries from Torquay four years ago and proved a consistent performer in Cherries' rise from League One to the top flight.

However, he has made just four Premier League appearances in the calendar year and faces stiff competition to regain his place in the side.

Meanwhile, Tokelo Rantie's reported move to Turkish football is thought to be on the rocks.

Soccer Laduma stated the striker had been on the cusp of a switch to Genclerbirligi but there there had been "issues with the transfer".

Once Cherries' record signing, Rantie made just three Premier League appearances last season, all as a late substitute.
