CHERRIES winger Max Gradel looks set to avoid suspension for the start of the forthcoming Premier League season – after seeing red against Minnesota United.

The Ivory Coast international and Damion Lowe were dismissed following an altercation in the latter stages of the friendly at National Sports Center on Wednesday.

However, Gradel is due to avoid sanctions for the upcoming top-flight campaign despite reacting angrily to a strong challenge from the Loons defender.

A double from Callum Wilson, a bizarre own goal by United keeper Sammy Ndjock and a late strike from Lewis Grabban earned Cherries a 4-0 win.

Eddie Howe's side have now returned to British shores and are due to face Portsmouth at Fratton Park tomorrow.

While at Leeds, Gradel missed the first four games of the 2010-11 season having earned a red card against Bristol Rovers in the final game of the previous campaign.

He saw a three-match ban extended by the Football Association as he had to be restrained by players when confronting the referee during the League One clash.
