HANS Andersen insists there will be little time to blow away the cobwebs when Poole Pirates return to action against Lakeside tonight (7.30).

Bar the trip to Purfleet to face the Hammers on July 1, which saw Pirates represented by Chris Holder, Adam Ellis and four Premier League guests, Poole’s stars have not hit the shale together for six weeks.

And while the visitors have lost seven out of nine away meetings in the Elite League so far – their only successes being at rock-bottom Leicester – Andersen argued there would be no room for complacency.

Andersen told the Daily Echo: “They started pretty well against us last time and you should never underestimate your opponents.

“When you start to do that, you risk letting your own standards drop and that is when it can bite you. We have to ride well from the off and score strongly.

On the overdue return to action, he added: “It is nice. I am just looking forward to getting those skull and crossbones back on.

“I have never had a break like it without being injured. We just have to get back into it quickly, to make sure we find that understanding and start winning again straight away.”
