PIRATES charger Adam Ellis has been named in Great Britain's 10-man long squad for the Speedway World Cup final next month.

Ringwood-based Ellis could feature at Belle Vue's National Speedway Stadium on July 30 if he survives the axe when national boss Alun Rossiter shortens his squad.

Also in the Team GB squad are Tai Woffinden, Craig Cook, Chris Harris, Danny King, Robert Lambert, Scott Nicholls, Josh Bates, Richie Worrall and Steve Worrall.

Ellis, who recently returned to action following a broken collarbone, could be included in the final line-up as part of the main quartet or as an under-21 reserve.

There is plenty of Pirates involvement elsewhere with Hans Andersen and Bjarne Pedersen both named in the Danish squad for Event One on July 23.

Denmark face Poland, Russia and the Czech Republic on home shale at Vojens.

Poole duo Chris Holder and Brady Kurtz have been included in the Australia squad for Event Two, set to take place in Vastervik, Sweden on July 26.

The Aussies will clash with Sweden, the United States and Germany as they aim to secure their safe passage through.

As hosts, Great Britain were seeded into the final. The race-off is set to take place at Belle Vue the previous night.
