WESTOVER Bournemouth's young stars impressed having stepped up a grade at a recent regatta in Newport.
The novices were swiftly promoted to the junior ranks on the back of some impressive performances, enabling them to take on the challenge of facing local rivals Christchurch RC.
Dom Bihari, Ben Chesterman, Charlie Ranson and Connor Stone were coxed to victory by Anna Nolan and will be looking to build on their success as coach Alvin Ranson prepares them for the Swanage regatta on July 30.
Meanwhile, Westover's youngest senior sweep rower Libby Perry continued her fine form with victory at Newport following on from her success at Poole regatta the previous week.
Now competing in her single scull, 17-year-old Perry’s two consecutive wins also sees her promoted from novice to junior status where she will remain for the rest of the season.
Westover will be hosting its regatta on Saturday, July 9 at Joseph’s Steps on Bournemouth seafront. All support is welcomed.
The club is also looking to recruit new members. To declare your interest, email Dominic Brancaleone on dombranca@yahoo.com
