TOKELO Rantie's agent has been quoted as saying there is "concrete interest" in the Cherries striker from a club in Denmark.

The South Africa international has remained on the fringes of the first team since signing for a then-record fee in August 2013.

He played just 38 minutes in three substitute appearances in the Premier League last season, featuring three times in cup competitions.

Danish Superliga runners-up SonderjyskE, who will compete in the Europa League next season despite only being formed in 2004, has admitted to monitoring the out-of-favour frontrunner with Rantie's representative confirming talks are ongoing.

"I can confirm that there is concrete interest from a club in Denmark. We are in dialogue with Bournemouth about a transfer," Slomic was quoted as saying in Tipsbladet, a Danish sports magazine.

And SonderjyskE sporting director, Hans Jörgen Haysen, admitted his club's interest.

"It's my job to know him and the other players who may be within our price range," he said.

"He is one of many players we are watching and he is definitely an interesting player who I remember from his time in Malmö. But right now, it is not more than that."

Supporters yesterday latched on to a tweet posted from Rantie's official account.
