CHRIS Park admits it will be "slightly strange" for Dorset to play their first home game outside the county when they take on Cornwall on Sunday.

Dorset have never ventured over the border for a home clash in their 120-year history but that will change for the Unicorns Knockout Trophy clash at North Perrott CC (11am).

Park's men will aim to build on their season-opening victory against Berkshire a fortnight ago when they take to the field in Somerset and the captain concedes it will be an unusual experience.

He told the Daily Echo: "It's going to be something new for us and although we are looking forward to it, it's going to be slightly strange.

"North Perrott is a fantastic ground and one of the best batting pitches I've played on. The facilities are going to be top-class.

"Since Paul Prichard came in as head coach, we have adopted a philosophy of playing homegrown players and yet funnily enough it's the first time we're going to play a home game outside the county.

"That's out of my hands and I leave that to the powers that be.

"We're looking forward to seeing what support we have on that side of the county and over the border."

The Dorset side features just one change with Bashley's Josh Digby replacing Michael Porter, who is playing for Southampton Solent University.

It will be Digby's debut for the county after he was called upon to step up from 12th man against Berkshire after Max Waller succumbed to illness.

Park added: "We are hoping to get another good performance under our belt and, hopefully, a second win.

"Cornwall are a strong side and have been for the past two or three years.

"They had a game rained off against Berkshire last weekend so if we can win it will put us in a really good position going into the Oxfordshire and Devon games."
