BASHLEY have been hit by injury and absence problems ahead of their Southern Premier League opener against visitors Lymington tomorrow (1pm).

Already weakened by the departure of star all-rounder Richard Morris to Henley, Bashley are without bowlers Jake Lilley and Simon Ridley due to unavailability and injury, respectively.

All-rounder Richard Lock has decided not to play for the club while spinner Ryan Macciocchi, who joined Bash from North East Premier League side Tynemouth, is left out.

Lymington include Hampshire batsman Lewis McManus in their line-up while New Zealander Terry Crabb and Chris Blake are set to make their debuts.

Bashley: Gates, Thurgood, Jacques, Porter, Bailiff, Watkins, Ridley, Digby, Neal, Thomson, Nash.

Lymington: Beetham, Ellis, Freeman, Hand, Rogers, McManus, Scott, Blake, Grierson, Metcalfe, Crabb.

Newly-promoted New Milton will hope Kiwi Dave Wakefield can bolster their batting for the home clash with St Cross Symondians (1pm).

Former Totton & Eling wicket-keeper Tom Arnold will be behind the stumps for the Green and Golds.

New Milton: J Park, Arnold, L Beck, Edwards, Elliott, Gargaro, Haggaty, Loader, N Park, Wakefield, Watts.
