AFC Bournemouth is offering fans the chance to win a VIP matchday experience in exchange for a small donation to its latest community project.

Or, for hardcore Steve Fletcher fans, a £2000 donation will get you a day in the life of the Cherries legend.

The Cherries Community Fund, launched in February, provides money for Bournemouth-based schemes that help develop young people and vulnerable groups, as well as promoting sport and a healthy lifestyle.

And for a minimum £5 donation to the fund, a lucky supporter will have the chance of winning a “once in a lifetime” ticket to watch Cherries play Swansea City on March 12.

As well as an overnight stay in Bournemouth’s new five-star Hilton Hotel, the winner will be chauffeur-driven by Ridgeway BMW for the day and get to join club chairman Jeff Mostyn in the boardroom.

They will also be given a pre-match tour of Vitality Stadium by former goalkeeper Jimmy Glass before enjoying the match from the comfort of the directors’ box.

And the match programme will include a feature about the winner, who will meet a Cherries player pitch-side for a photo, receive two tickets to the end of season players awards dinner and a Champions DVD signed by boss Eddie Howe and his assistant Jason Tindall.

In a tongue-in-cheek video promoting the Cherries Community Fund raffle, Fletch is see wheedling his way into shot as current players explain the prize on offer.

Each tier of donation gets you a different level of entry: a £10 donation gets 10 entries and a thank you video from Eddie Howe, a £25 donation gets a campaign t-shirt, a £75 donation get a Champions Season DVD signed by Eddie Howe, a £250 donation gets a signed replica home shirt (Eddie & Jason + club captain) - and a £2000 donation gets you 2,000 raffle entries to main prize, a campaign tshirt AND you get to 'Spend A Day In The Life Of Steve Fletcher'.

Fletch said: “We feel really passionately about giving something back and this is a unique way to do so.

“It’s an unbelievable set of prizes and the most important thing is all the money goes to the Cherries Community Fund, which will keep helping great causes.”

And head of the club’s community sports trust, Steve Cuss, said it was great to see the first team helping with the community fund.

"The first tranche of meetings will be happening in the coming months, and it would be great if this campaign could generate a large number of funds to help as many local causes as possible,” said Mr Cuss.

Groups can make an application for £1,000 of funding, which will then be judged by Mr Mostyn, Mr Cuss and a community representative. Full details on application forms will be announced in due course.
