HOTSHOT Benik Afobe revealed the secret to his scoring streak since arriving at Cherries – pure instinct.

The transfer window recruit from Wolves fired home his third goal in as many Premier League games to hand his new club a precious victory at Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

Afobe had previously notched against Norwich and at Sunderland and put his form down to a steadfast belief as well as a relaxed attitude in front of goal.

“I think it is instinctive,” said Afobe, who is set to face former club Arsenal tomorrow. “I have been shooting and scoring goals since I was six but you don’t turn into a goalscorer overnight.

“If I don’t score and I play well, I am still happy. Some strikers are not happy if they haven’t scored but, if I do well and we win, I still smile.

“You see strikers with all the attributes but they don’t score because they don’t have the knack. They don’t believe in themselves.

“In the first half at Crystal Palace, I missed a chance that I would normally get on target.

“I was a bit disappointed with myself because it was a great ball from Charlie Daniels, who I have built a connection with already.

“But I backed myself that the next chance I got, I would score and I did. Not beating yourself up gets you goals.”
