Manager Ken Vaughan acknowledged the availability of Martin Warren would be sporadic but predicted the returning striker could help fire Bournemouth Poppies to a prosperous 2016.

Hamworthy Recreation will retain first call on Warren’s services but he is set to play a part in Poppies’ campaign when fixtures do not clash.

It adds more firepower to a side that has soared away from the Sydenhams Wessex Premier relegation places on the back of four unbeaten matches, featuring three straight victories.

Vaughan told the Daily Echo: “Once you start picking up points, the confidence comes back and having an outlet up front has helped us to do that.

“Kabba (Jack) has given us that and luckily enough, we have Martin to help cover whenever he can. He is a Hamworthy Rec player and we appreciate them letting us have him. He scored a superb goal on Tuesday and we know what he’s about.”

Vaughan still has an eye "on a couple of targets" to bolster his squad and added: “Recent results might just give them the impetus to give us a call back.”

Poppies head to Lymington tomorrow hoping to add to their nine-point cushion over the bottom two.

Elsewhere, Verwood head to free-falling Fawley, Brockenhurst travel to Bemerton and Hamworthy United journey to Whitchurch (all 3pm).
