LYMINGTON Town’s topsy-turvy season continued with an absorbing 3-3 draw against Sydenhams Wessex Premier rivals AFC Fawley on Saturday.
Knocked out of the Wessex League Cup and FA Vase in recent weeks, Lymington bounced back with a deserved 2-0 victory over Alresford in midweek.
But despite scoring through Tim Stephenson, Zac Mouland and a Darren Ritchie penalty, they were unable to follow up against struggling Fawley.
The Watersiders registered a third successive league draw thanks to goals from Ben Bolton, Dan Fry and Aaron Lucas.
Wessex One Ringwood Town earned a date with higher-level opposition after seeing off AFC Stoneham in the second round of the Wessex League Cup.
Goals from Ben Harris and Matt Steer saw Ringwood triumph 2-0 against Stoneham at their Elliots Arena headquarters.
It booked them a trip to either Whitchurch United or Newport in the third round with the Premier Division rivals due to face-off at Longmeadow a week on Wednesday.
Dominic Falco bagged a consolation as New Milton Town suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Wessex One rivals Alton Town at Fawcett’s Field.
Connor Kelly scored the only goal of the game to earn Newport a 1-0 victory at Verwood in Sydenhams Wessex Premier, while Luke Sweeney’s double and a Geoff Dunn effort earned AFC Portchester a 3-0 win at Hamworthy United.
Poppies’ clash at Fareham was postponed.
