BIRTHDAY boy Eddie Howe admits he will only be at his Sunday best if Cherries can trump Everton today (3pm).

The Dean Court boss turns 38 tomorrow but insists the celebrations will be cut short if his side does not perform in the Premier League showdown.

"I had actually forgotten about it," said Howe. "It will all be dependent on the result for me."

Asked whether his family understood his staunch stance, Howe added: "I don't have to say it to them, they are well aware if we don't get a good result and performance that I'm not really going to be in the mood to celebrate.

"I forget about everything to be honest, it's not just my birthday.

"Life stops when you're managing a football club. The day I stop managing, I'd imagine my life might start again. It is football, football, football."
