WIMBORNE Town manager Steve Cuss was left to rue a controversial handball decision as Magpies were knocked out of the FA Trophy.
Cuss's troops succumbed to a 3-1 defeat at Larkhall in the preliminary round with further salt rubbed in the wound by Adam Costello's withdrawal due to a knee injury.
Wimborne took an early lead through Carl Preston and after Jamie Lyons levelled, Patrick Wilson was penalised for handball in the box and Brad Norris converted the spot-kick.
After the break, defender Costello was stretchered off and Larkhall's Dean Griffiths hit the bar before Josh Egan made it 3-1. Preston was later denied his second by the woodwork.
Cuss told the Daily Echo: "Unfortunately, the penalty decision went against us and changed the course of the game.
"There was no doubt it hit Patrick Wilson's hand but he was a yard away from the person who had headed the ball.
"He couldn't get out of the way. I have no complaints with the referee but it appeared extremely harsh."
On Costello's injury, Cuss added: "It's potentially serious. He is due to have a scan on Tuesday so we will know more then."
Magpies: Harvell, Wilson, Johnson, Costello (Randall, 55), Maybury, Blake (Turner, 69), Clarke (Elliott, 75), Oliver, Stokoe, Gamble, Preston. Unused sub: Roast (g/k).
