GOALKEEPER Lee Camp has had his Cherries contract terminated by mutual consent and will join Championship club Rotherham United on a free transfer.

As revealed by the Daily Echo today, the 31-year-old stopper has joined the Millers on a two-year deal, subject to football League ratification.

Camp’s final league match for Cherries came at Rotherham in January and he played his final first-team match for the club in the FA Cup eight days later.

The former Nottingham Forest and Derby custodian started Cherries’ first seven league games last season before losing his place following the arrival of Artur Boruc from Southampton.

And Camp dropped further down the pecking order at the Vitality Stadium following Adam Federici’s signing from Reading in the summer.

Initially drafted in on loan from West Brom in October 2013, Camp helped bring some stability after Cherries had used three different goalkeepers in their first 12 games in the Championship.

He penned a permanent two-and-a-half year deal in January 2014.
