BOURNEMOUTH Poppies boss Ken Vaughan will need no introduction to Brockenhurst’s latest signing – prolific Sydenhams Wessex League striker Scott Joyce.

The ex-Poole Town hitman, who plundered 20 goals for Poppies during the 2012-13 season, is the partner of Vaughan’s daughter, Kelly, and could feature in tonight’s Hampshire Senior Cup first-round tie at Victoria Park.

Joyce continued his scoring spree at Brock the following season and after a spell at Bashley, returned to the Wessex and racked up 34 goals for Bemerton during the last campaign.

He scored an injury-time winner in the FA Cup for the Badgers on his return on Saturday.

The winners of the tie will take on Alresford Town or Eversley & California in round two.

Meanwhile, Wessex One duo New Milton Town and Christchurch have tough road trips against high-flying Premier Division sides in the county competition.

The Linnets travel to Andover Town for the right to play Totton & Eling away in round two, while Priory journey to Blackfield & Langley hoping to set up a home tie with Newport (IOW) or Fawley (all 7.45pm).
