CHERRIES are set to test Norwich City's resolve with a third bid to buy back striker Lewis Grabban as one of three prospective transfer swoops, the Daily Echo understands.

Links to Grabban, Crystal Palace frontman Glenn Murray and Napoli midfielder Jonathan de Guzman are all thought to have foundation as the club looks to bolster its squad before the September 1 transfer deadline.

Norwich boss Alex Neil today revealed his club had rejected two separate bids for Grabban and vowed not to sell to a rival but Cherries are unlikely to give up without a fight.

Neil told the Eastern Daily Press: "Bournemouth have come in with two separate bids and they have both been rejected.

"Lewis is a clever boy and he can see how much he has featured under me since I have been here and he is a big part of our plans. I certainly won’t be giving players to direct rivals. That is the bottom line."

When quizzed on Grabban at yesterday's press conference, Cherries assistant-manager Jason Tindall politely declined to comment.

Meanwhile, reports from Italy suggesting de Guzman's arrival could be imminent are thought to be accurate.

An initial season-long loan move with an option for Cherries to buy the Holland international for 6 million euro in the summer has the green light from his current club Napoli.

Last week, speculation was rife that a similar deal with Sunderland had been agreed. The ex-Swansea man is thought to have turned them down but the Black Cats remain keen.

Cherries are thought to be pondering a fresh move for Murray but links with Hull City captain Michael Dawson are understood to be wide of the mark.
