IPSWICH full-back Tyrone Mings is on the verge of completing a club-record £8million move to Cherries with winger Ryan Fraser moving the other way on loan, according to the Guardian.

And the East Anglian Daily Times followed up by reporting striker Brett Pitman is also set to switch to Portman Road on a permanent deal, although it is not understood to be part of the Mings deal.

Unsubstantiated internet speculation said Pitman had been seen in Ipswich today.

The Daily Echo reported that Cherries had joined a race with Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion to sign Mings but the left-sided defender, signed from non-league Chippenham for £10,000 in July 2012, is thought to be having a medical in Dorset.

Long-serving Pitman has been promoted from each of England's three professional leagues during eight years in the senior setup across two spells at Dean Court.

He led the goal charts during the Greatest Escape in 2009 and completed a hat-trick of Dean Court golden boots after finishing as top scorer in the 2010 and 2013 promotion campaigns.

Pitman, who joined Cherries as a 15-year-old and rejoined for a fee of £60,000 from Bristol City in January 2013, netted 13 goals in 34 appearances in the Championship and became the club’s fourth all-time leading league marksmen when he plundered a hat-trick in the 4-0 win over Blackpool in March.
