CHAIRMAN Jeff Mostyn has expressed his gratitude to Charlton chief executive Katrien Meire after the Addicks granted Cherries an extra 1,400 tickets for the final game of the season.

Cherries requested additional tickets for the Championship clash at The Valley a week on Saturday after their initial allocation of 2,900 had sold out within hours of going on sale.

As a result, Charlton have moved some of their own season ticket holders and issued Cherries with around 1,400 extras which will go on sale to season ticket holders from 9am on Saturday, April 25.

Mostyn told the club website: “I can’t thank Katrien and Charlton enough for such a gesture of goodwill to our supporters.

“We have been in conversation ever since the initial allocation was snapped up so quickly and she has worked miracles to find a way of accommodating us inside a stadium that has season ticket holders dotted throughout.

“Although delighted that we are now in a position at this club to be taking sizeable travelling support to games up and down the country on a regular basis, it is not an ideal situation when loyal AFC Bournemouth fans are left disappointed by not being able to watch the Cherries on the road and especially the last game of this magnificent season in particular.

“Unfortunately, the demand for tickets is always going to outweigh the supply at this point but every single extra supporter we can get into The Valley on Saturday, May 2 will make a difference to Eddie and the boys in such an important game.

“We have pledged to cover all the extra costs that Charlton will incur with this process. I ask all our supporters who make the trip to show their gratitude to Charlton Athletic for finding a way to accommodate us and, hopefully, we will see a fantastic atmosphere generated by both sets of fans on the day.”

Tickets can be purchased in person from the ticket office at the Goldsands Stadium and over the phone on 0844 576 1910 (option one, then option one again). No tickets will be issued online.
