BOSS Adie Arnold welcomed the appointment of Fiona Legg as chairperson at Christchurch and admitted stability would be critical for the club.

Work commitments in Jersey prompted previous chair Mark Duffy to tender his resignation in February, which the club subsequently accepted.

Legg had become Duffy’s vice-chairman in the summer of 2011 but left due to increased constraints on her time midway through last season.

However, she has now been appointed as his replacement and Arnold revealed his delight at the move.

Ex-Verwood manager Arnold, who turned down an approach from Legg to become Priory boss in 2013, said: “Me and Danny (Saxby, assistant) have Fiona’s backing and, hopefully, the club can move forward now.

“It’s important we all stick together agoing forward and the key thing is stability. If we survive, hopefully, we can regroup and push forward.”

Lowly Christchurch welcome back three former players ahead of tonight’s Sydenhams Wessex Premier fixture with Andover Town at Hurn Bridge (7.45pm).

Jon Grace has arrived from New Milton, Marc Fairbrother from Poppies and Dan Taylor from Bournemouth Electric.
