A PAIR of 13-dart finishes from Welshman Wayne Warren saw world champion Scott Mitchell exit the World Darts Trophy tonight.
The Bransgore-based ace, who last month lifted the BDO World Darts Championship at Lakeside, lost five legs in a row in a 7-2 reverse at Event City, Manchester.
‘Scotty Dog’ hit 100 or more no fewer than 22 times throughout the match but Warren broke the throw in the sixth and checked out on double 18 at the first attempt having registered 140, 100, 100 and 125.
Warren then held his throw to move 5-2 ahead, followed that up with another 13-darter on double 18 and sealed his victory with a fifth successful hold in the ninth.
Mitchell had beaten Canadian David Cameron 6-3 in his tournament opener last night.
