FORMER Christchurch and Hamworthy United boss Graham Kemp is set to return to Sydenhams Wessex League management with Bemerton Heath.

Kemp, who left Southern League Dorchester in mid-January, will replace long-serving Harlequins manager Ian Chalk, who is stepping down next month.

Chalk, who has been in charge at Western Way for the past eight years, had originally planned to continue until the end of the season but has brought forward his leaving date to March 21.

Kemp, the most successful manager in Christchurch’s history, spent six years in the Priory hot seat and took over at Hamworthy United in November 2013 following a brief spell at Winchester City.

He will return to Hurn Bridge with Bemerton when they face relegation-threatened Christchurch on Saturday, April 4.

Meanwhile, Christchurch will tomorrow bid to end a six-match winless run when they host Andover Town. Priory have picked up a solitary point since thrashing Poppies 7-0 at the end of December.

Verwood Town, whose midweek defeat at Moneyfields came following a hat-trick of victories, will be looking to get back to winning ways when they travel to Brockenhurst.

Lymington welcome back Stuart Williamson, Sam Roberts and Jordan Rose for the visit of AFC Portchester to the Sports Ground, while Hamworthy United host Fawley at the County Ground and Poppies head to Whitchurch.

Wessex One promotion-chasers New Milton entertain Fleet Spurs at Fawcett’s Field and Ringwood host Hythe at Long Lane (all matches kick off at 3pm).
