CAMERON Jerome’s late goal ended Cherries’ 14-match unbeaten run in the Championship as 10-man Norwich came from behind to emerge victorious at Dean Court today.

The former Stoke City striker, a £1.5million buy in August, fired home an unstoppable drive from 20 yards to win the day for the visitors 10 minutes from time.

Earlier, Gary Hooper’s scrambled effort had cancelled out Matt Ritchie’s 18th-minute opener, the winger having signed a new three-and-a-half year contract ahead of the match.

Norwich were reduced to 10 men midway through the second half when midfielder Jonny Howson received a straight red card for a foul on Yann Kermorgant.

Bradley Johnson headed the first chance over the crossbar after Nathan Redmond’s centre had been flicked on at the near post in the fourth minute.

A combination of Charlie Daniels and Tommy Elphick prevented Cameron Jerome fashioning an opening following a Norwich counter-attack.

Canaries defender Steven Whittaker was caught in possession and, although Callum Wilson tried his luck from distance, his effort flashed past the upright.

Steve Cook threw himself in front of Redmond’s piledriver before Turner headed over following a corner in the 14th minute.

Although Norwich enjoyed the lion’s share of the early possession, Cherries displayed their ruthless streak to opening the scoring after 18 minutes.

Ritchie timed his run to perfection and swept home with his left foot after being picked out by Marc Pugh’s low, driven cross.

Pugh went close to doubling Cherries’ lead when he rifled narrowly over the crossbar following some neat footwork from Brett Pitman.

Jerome’s cross-shot was saved at his near post by Cherries goalkeeper Artur Boruc before Jonny Howson blazed over when well placed.

Pugh created an opening but fired straight at Canaries goalkeeper John Ruddy before the visitors drew level in controversial circumstances after 36 minutes.

Redmond’s corner was met by Jerome whose header struck Turner and bounced invitingly into the path of Hooper who made no mistake from close range.

Although Cherries claimed Turner had handled, their protestations to referee Chris Foy and his assistant Mick McDonough fell on deaf ears.

As an even first half drew to a close, Cherries midfielder Harry Arter’s ferocious volley was blocked by Alex Tettey.

Neat build-up play involving Daniels and Pugh created a chance for Pitman but Ruddy was equal to his pot-shot early in the second half.

Norwich were reduced to 10 men when Howson received a straight red card for an over-the-top tackle on Cherries substitute Kermorgant midway through the second half.

Callum Wilson was denied when Ruddy turned his effort for a corner before Ritchie’s curling effort from an Arter cut-back flashed wide of the post.

As the teams traded chances, Jerome’s snapshot flew wide of the upright as did Ritchie’s low drive with 11 minutes left on the clock.

Jerome’s fine finish with 10 minutes remaining put the visitors ahead, the striker firing into the top corner and past Boruc’s despairing dive from 20 yards.
