KINSON-based Georgia Hall today missed out on victory at Lalla Aicha Tour School but wrapped up the ideal Christmas present – a 2015 Ladies European Tour card.

The 18-year-old, who had led at Samanah Country Club in Morocco following the opening four rounds, eventually finished second on 15-under-par.

A sensational final round of 63 from Nanna Madsen gave the Danish amateur victory by two shots on 17-under.

Germany's Sophia Popov took third on 14-under.

Parkstone professional Hall was one of 64 players bidding to secure full membership of the LET following Saturday's cut – a reward given to the top 30 plus ties.

And while the youngster was knocked off her perch at the top of the leaderboard, she was never in danger of dropping out of the top 30.

Only a remarkable final round from Madsen denied Hall victory as she wiped out a sizeable deficit in fine style.

Hall had led Madsen, Popov, Kelsey MacDonald and Louise Stahle by six shots overnight and the former Curtis Cup ace had looked on course for victory.

However, Madsen had other ideas as she fired the joint-lowest score in three editions of tour school since it moved to Morocco in 2012.

Hall dropped out of the top two on the back nine as Popov made her move but a bogey on the final hole saw the German slip to third – despite a closing six-under.

Although Hall was denied victory, the result brought to an end a superb month for the Dorset ace, who won a £50,000 Mercedes for sinking a hole-in-one at the Dubai Ladies Masters nine days ago.

The youngster admitted she had been surprised by the final-day low scoring, telling ladieseuropeantour.com: “I thought there would be a four-under or five-under and I thought if I shot one or two-under that would do it.

"I didn’t play that well but I didn’t play that badly either. I’m definitely pleased to have my tour card and I’ve done what I needed to do at the end of the day.”
