POOLE Pirates co-promoter Gordon Pairman has been elected as one of two British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA) representatives on the Speedway Control Bureau (SCB).
The SCB is the governing body of British speedway, each year producing the rulebook by which all clubs abide.
The Bureau consists of four nominated members, two from the Auto Cycling Union (ACU) and two from the BSPA under an independent chair.
Pairman, who replaces Wolverhampton's Chris van Straaten in the role, said: "I am looking forward to representing the BSPA within the SCB and I would personally, and on behalf of the BSPA, extend my thanks to Chris for the time he has expended in the role which has spanned a number of years.
"I will join our chairman Alex Harkess within the SCB and strategically I think this is for the overall benefit of speedway.”
