CHERRIES striker Tokelo Rantie believes his shoulder injury is not as serious as was first feared.
Rantie dislocated his right shoulder just seconds after coming off the bench in Cherries’ 2-2 draw with Ipswich yesterday.
The 24-year-old sustained the injury when he fell awkwardly after being sandwiched between Ipswich defenders Luke Chambers and Tommy Smith.
He required a lengthy spell of treatment on the pitch and was carried off on a stretcher wearing an oxygen mask before being taken to hospital.
In an interview today with KickOff.com, Rantie said: “I dislocated my shoulder yesterday, it was out of the joint but they managed to bring it back together.
“Luckily, I won’t need to have an operation because it was the first time this has happened and the damage was not that serious.
“Tomorrow, I am going for an MRI scan to see exactly how long the injury will take (to heal). I am home now (after being discharged from hospital). At least the pain is not so bad and I can move and rotate my shoulder in different directions.”
