STRIKER Jayden Stockley made a goalscoring return as a Cherries development team chalked up a 3-2 victory over their counterparts from Oxford United today.

Stockley, whose loan spell at League Two Cambridge United was cut short last month, drew Cherries level with a finely-taken individual effort in the second half.

Earlier, Mason Walsh had netted to cancel out Josh Ashby’s opener for the hosts before Callum O’Dowda scored to give Oxford the half-time lead.

Stockley restored parity with 17 minutes remaining before Josh Wakefield, who returned from a loan spell with Torquay last month, grabbed a late winner.

Former first-team skipper Miles Addison, who sustained a knee injury while on loan at Scunthorpe earlier this season, hit the comeback trail and played the first 45 minutes.

Teenage midfielder Sam Matthews, sidelined by an ankle injury since September, also returned to action and replaced Walsh after 60 minutes.

Cherries: O’Flaherty (Holmes, h-t), Muleba, Addison (Kaye, h-t), McCarthy, Buckley, Cornick, Wakefield, Worthington, Walsh (Matthews, 60), A Coulibaly (Surridge, 70), Stockley.
