BOURNEMOUTH’S Anya Kay endured a tough introduction to international bobsleigh competition as she crashed out in Park City, Utah.
The Arts University Bournemouth student was brakewoman for Youth Olympian Mica McNeill in the first round of this year’s Americas Cup.
The Great Britain duo were up with the leaders midway through their first scheduled run when they lost control.
Kay was replaced by Sian Huxtable for the second outing as GB chiefs looked to safeguard the brakewoman's fitness.
Huxtable and McNeill combined to take silver behind US duo Jamie Greubel and Lauren Gibbs.
Kay is in contention to compete in the second round of the Americas Cup in Calgary this weekend.
