BOSS Steve Cuss believes his Wimborne Town underdogs can get their fellow Magpies in a flap by causing an FA Trophy upset at Dorchester on Saturday.

Cuss’s side are 10-3 outsiders ahead of their short trip to the Avenue (3pm) for a first qualifying round derby date worth £2,700 to the victors.

Wimborne boast an impressive record of five wins from eight away league matches in Southern South & West but face a Dorchester outfit rejuvenated by the appointment of manager Graham Kemp and four wins from six matches in all competitions.

But Cuss reckons his boys can make the most of playing without the burden of expectation in their bid to topple their higher-ranked rivals.

“We’re looking forward to it,” said Cuss. “It’s a derby game in a big competition and we can go there and enjoy it because we are clearly the underdogs.

“But we’re on a fairly decent run at the moment and I always back my players. We might not have the biggest of squads but it is a talented group and when we get it right I believe we’re capable of beating anybody.”

He continued: “We will try to play our normal game. We have been playing some good football this season, particularly away from home and while I would have preferred to play them at home, Dorchester is a great place to play.”

George Webb, who picked up an injury in midweek, is Cuss’s only injury concern ahead of the clash.
