NEW Milton all-rounder Nick Elliott was named Southern Electric Premier League Young Cricketer of the Year at a glittering presentation awards ceremony in Southampton.
Elliott topped the Division One bowling charts – his 32-wicket haul including a stunning eight for 24 return against Bournemouth, the fifth best individual figures recorded in Southern Premier League history.
An increasingly powerful left-hand batsman, Elliott also made 225 runs and scored the winning hit when New Milton beat Totton & Eling to win the inaugural Southern Electric T20 Plate competition.
He is the second New Milton player to win the Young Cricketer award – Neil Taylor having won it in 1985 before he joined neighbours Bashley.
